The University of Stirling Art Collection is a varied collection of works of Scottish contemporary art including paintings, prints, tapestries, sculpture and silver. The app focuses on the art housed in the Pathfoot Building but the University’s sculpture collection is on display across the campus.
Artists featured on the app include; Norman McLaren, J.D. Fergusson, Ian Hamilton Finlay and Willie Rodger.
The Art Collection at the University of Stirling builds on the legacy of the University’s first Principal; Dr Tom Cottrell (1967-1973) who believed that art should be on display across the campus as “part of the everyday life” of students and staff. In recent years the Art Collection has grown to be of international significance and has recently achieved museum status.
The main collection is located in the Pathfoot building and the open air sculpture walks are free to the public
